Branching Cities

BRANCHING CITIES
Branching Cities is an ongoing sketching exploration imagining the city as a growing system. Networks of connections blur the distinction between building and city. Architecture is no longer thought of as individual objects but rather as components of larger structures.
These structures range civilizations and reflect cultural dispositions toward growth, connection to nature, order, and improvisation. Some are built upon cities of the past; others are more abstract and siteless. Some resemble forests and envision entire ecosystems of habitation.
Why aren't buildings more like trees.
Why aren't trees more like bodies.
Why aren't bodies more like the universe.
